Armed robbers were seen — Police

Two men who carried out an armed robbery using a machete and a gun were “extremely distinctive in their attire”, Police said.

Meanwhile, they have renewed their appeal for information.

“Some members of the community will know the identity of these two persons,” a spokesman said of the attack at 7.18am on Monday.

The complainant had left the Warwick Esso gas station to make a bank deposit, when he was set upon by the pair, who was riding a red Honda Airblade motorcycle.

The assailants would have been seen by motorists passing on Middle Road at the time, the spokesman said — or by persons working in businesses between the Warwick Esso and the bowling alley toward Khyber Pass.

“Anyone with information, or who saw this incident, is urged to come forward to assist in bringing these dangerous offenders to justice,” the spokesman said, calling on members of the public to contact Detective Inspector Colin King at the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1252 or 295-0011. Persons who assist in bringing the suspects to justice may also qualify for a monetary reward by calling Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.
