Digicel’s new flagship store to open

Ready to open: The Boyle Building on the corner of Queen Street and Church Street has been painted red in preparation for the opening on Monday of Digicel Bermuda's new flagship store

Digicel Bermuda’s new flagship store in Hamilton will open its doors on Monday.

The outside of the Boyle Building on the corner of Queen Street and Church Street has been painted in Digicel’s corporate red in preparation for the arrival of the company.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11am, with the public invited to attend. There will be giveaways and discounts on offer during the launch day, with prizes including phones, home-streaming Apple TV and G-Box, and for one winner free service for the remainder of the year.

The Boyle Building unit was previously occupied by fashion and sportswear retailer Makin’ Waves, until it moved to a new location on the opposite side of the road in February.

Digicel already has a shop on Church Street. It said the new 4,400 square foot store is the first fully interactive customer experience store in Bermuda, offering a full range of technology and telecom services.

The company’s repair centre will be relocated to the Boyle Building along with a new “state of the art customer service area” designed to reduce waiting times.

In a statement Digicel said customers will be able to pay their bill, top up via kiosks, and browse the latest mobile devices, tablets and laptops.

“With expanded product ranges and the launch of a new product line the new store will be the Island’s one stop shop for mobile and communications technology,” the company said.

Digicel Bermuda CEO Robin Seale stated: “We are excited to open our flagship store and take the next step to better serving Bermuda. A significant amount of time and investment was put into the new location to not only create a store fit for the great people of Bermuda, but also help develop the economy.

“We are proud to say that when the new store launches we will be the only telecoms provider to offer the biggest range of products all in one convenient location.”
