Exciting wins for Bay and Rangers

Top scorer: Hollis

Southampton Rangers and Bailey’s Bay both scored exciting victories in rain-hit matches at Lord’s and Sea Breeze Oval that were reduced to 24 overs-a-side.

Rangers had to rely on an unbroken sixth wicket stand of 74 between Derrick Brangman and Shannon Rayner who came together at 28 for five in reply to the 101 for nine posted by Flatts. The match did not start until 3pm because of a wet wicket after heavy overnight rain.

Brangman finished with 47 not out in the five-wicket win while Rayner was unbeaten on 25 after Kijuan Franks, the Flatts captain, had done some early damage with his three for 18 off 4.3 overs.

Earlier Darnell Farrell led the Flatts batting with 34 while Lovintz Tota scored 26 after Rangers won the toss and sent Flatts in. Dion Stovell claimed three for 20 from five overs and Hasan Durham two for 16 off five.

Willow Cuts replied with 154 all out on the last ball. They went into the final over needing 25 for victory and Joseph Basden hit the first two balls for six before taking a single off the third ball. With two balls left they still needed twelve runs before Tre Manders caught Kamal Bashir on the boundary to end the match.
