House fire in St David’s

A house fire was tackled earlier today by the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service at a home in Cocoa Lane, St David’s.

No injuries were reported from the blaze, which was confined to a kitchen and caused some heat and smoke damage.

A fire truck with eight personnel responded from the Hamilton station shortly before 2pm, and had the fire under control by about 2.15pm.

Acting Lieutenant Jamal Albuoy said a single male occupant left the two-storey premises before fire trucks arrived, without injury.

An investigating officer attended to determine the cause of the fire.
