With a carnival theme, children showed off their singing and dancing skills at this summer’s popular Camparama event.
The annual showcase Department of Youth and Sport highlights dance talent throughout the nine camps organised by the Government during the school break.
Participating this year were three preschool camps, Smart Start, Fresh Start and Head Start, as well as Camp Bermudez, Kiskadee, Hibiscus, Chameleon, Pontoons and Teen Camp.
Suzette Harvey, the organiser, said: “Each year we choose dance specialists to go into the camps and expose the kids to something creative. The event is usually held outside at Shelly Bay or Bernard’s Park but due to the weather it was held at Ruth Seaton James Auditorium this year. We do it so that the parents can come out and see what their children have been learning over the three- to four-week period.”
This year, Dorothy Trott was honoured for her commitments to the Department of Youth and Sport.
