A 53-year-old woman was yesterday taken to hospital for treatment of injuries to her head and face.

The Southampton resident was found lying on the ground in the Lukes Pond Road and Middle Road area of Southampton at about 10.15pm, according to a Police spokesman.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

“Initial inquiries have commenced, however details remain limited at this time,” the spokesman added.

Police have appealed for witnesses, especially anyone who was in the area of Lukes Pond Road or Greene’s Guest House at about 10pm, to contact them at 295-0011.
