Rowdy boat prompts police investigation

Mangrove Bay

Police investigated a “very disturbing” report of a woman screaming in water off Mangrove Bay — but found it was merely a rowdy party boat.

At about 10.20pm on Sunday, Bermuda Radio received a phone call from an employee at Cambridge Beaches resort, who claimed to have heard “shouting and then anxious screams”.

Bermuda Radio stated in its report: “The screaming was very disturbing and had stopped by the time of the call and the employee was unable in the darkness to be certain of a location of origin in the bay, but asked whether an investigation might be made.

“The Bermuda Police Service dispatched two units to the area to investigate and discovered a large boat with partying going on aboard with rowdy passengers which by then was heading in the direction of Dockyard.

“The Police found nothing further to report.”
