Barbecue experts of all ages put their skills to the test in a cooking competition.

The Best Dressed Chicken contest at Hunt’s Fine Foods, in Warwick, saw participants from all over the community showing off their talents on Saturday.

Prizes were given out to:

• best whole chicken — William and Mary Smith;

• best jerk chicken leg — Nicole, Christianna and Christian Warren;

• best BBQ wings — Antonio Belvedere;

• People’s Choice award — Kurt and Kent Ming.

The event was created as a way to introduce the community to the Jamaican grade-A brand, Best Dressed Chicken.

Elmore Warren, the organiser, said: “The event was a success and everyone that came had a great time.

“It was special because it was an all free event and participants were given all the supplies needed to compete.

“Best Dressed Chicken provided us with the product as well as tons of giveaways. They even sent the trophy from Jamaica to be used annually and the winners names will continue to go on it.”
