Two young men have received the Southampton Parish Educational Awards for 2015.

Taylor Braithwaite and Carlsen Philip II have both been residents of the parish for more than 20 years and began their education together at Southampton Pre-school.

Mr Braithwaite has recently graduated from the University of West England (UWE) in Bristol, UK, with a bachelor of honours degree in business and law. He will now begin the graduate diploma in law, also at UWE.

Mr Philip recently graduated from Howard University in the United States with a bachelor of arts in economics, with a concentration in mathematics.

He will be continuing his studies at the University of Kent in England but plans to return to Bermuda in the future to start his career in the international business sector.

The Scholarship Committee was headed by Sharon Wilkinson and included council members Dionne Dowling, Leonard Simons and Stacey-Lee Williams. Both recipients will contribute community service to the parish when they return to Bermuda.
