Crisson to sell limited-edition Artemis watch

Jeweller Crisson is to sell a special limited edition watch named after the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Artemis team.

Only 250 Artemis watches are to be made by Swiss maker Ulysse-Nardin, who sponsor Artemis.

And a few will be sold in Crisson’s Bermuda stores as the countdown to the 2017 finals continues.

A spokesman for the firm said: “Ulysse-Nardin couldn’t give an exact number for how many we will get — my good guess is mo more than four.

“They are making 250 worldwide, so they will be spread pretty thinly.

“It’s really going to be a case of if you want one, put a deposit down and we will order it.”

Ulysse-Nardin, founded in 1846, specialise in sports-related timepieces, with an emphasis on sailing and diving.

The Marine Diver Artemis Racing watch is stainless steel, with a blue face complete with the Artemis logo on and a wave pattern around the case.

The Swedish team’s blue and yellow colours are featured in the rubber strap, which also carries the Artemis logo.

The Artemis logo and an America’s Cup yacht are engraved on the back of the casing.

The Crisson spokesman added: “We also have a range of Ulysse-Nardin watches, all of which are pretty nice, but the America’s Cup watch is special.”

Prices for the exclusive timepiece have yet to be revealed.

A spokeswoman for Ulysse-Nardin said: “Whether we are avid participants in the sport or watch from the shoreline, Ulysse-Nardin celebrates the sailor spirit by way of this partnership and its celebratory timepiece.”
