Man and woman charged with drug offences

A Devonshire woman and a St George’s man appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with drug offences.

Dhubreka Evans, 29, denied possessing 132.44 grams of cannabis, 3.44g of cocaine and 7.01g of heroin — all with intent to supply — in Devonshire on November 19 last year.

She also pleaded not guilty to possessing drug equipment, namely a digital scale, razor blades and straws.

Kenneth Boyles, 37, denied handling the controlled drug heroin, which was intended for supply, in Devonshire between an unknown date November 19 last year.

He also denied possessing $29,617 in cash, which he knew to be the proceeds of criminal conduct.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo granted both defendants $15,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that they report to Police three times a week, surrender their travel documents and not leave the jurisdiction without permission of the courts.

A trial date was set for November 25.
