Sammy Robinson shone with the bat and ball as Bermuda Masters retained the Warrington “Soup” Zuill Memorial trophy with an emphatic 109-run victory over Jamaican Association at Somerset Cricket Club last Friday.

Robinson blasted a top score 91 from 97 balls as the Bermuda Masters were dismissed for 167 in 24 overs after electing to bat and then claimed five wickets with his off spin as Jamaican Association folded for 58 in 17.2 overs.

Derek Wright was the next top scorer for Bermuda Masters with 26 from 24 balls while Herbie Bascome, the team captain, chipped in an unbeaten ten from 12 deliveries.

Darnell Farrell was the pick of the Jamaican Association bowling with five for 14 while fellow seam bowler Neil Anglin took two for 25.

Jamaican Association found runs hard to come by in reply and lost wickets at regular intervals as Robinson sliced through the top and middle order with some penetrative bowling.

Robinson finished with figures of five for 23 and was well supported by spinner Hasan Durham, who claimed two for four.

Chris Dailey, 18, Farrell, 15, and opening batsman Donovan Livingston, 12, were the only Jamaican Association batsmen in double figures.

Bermuda Masters will now face Bermuda’s 2005 ICC World Cup qualifying team at Sea Breeze Oval on Saturday in a 25-over match starting at mid-day.
