The emergency broadcasting station has been off the air again this morning due to technical difficulties but broadcast a live update at 6.30am, according to a spokesman.

The station went off the air last night before Hurricane Joaquin’s closest pass to Bermuda but was back on just before midnight.

Government also blamed “technical difficulties” for the breakdown.

A spokeswoman said yesterday: “The Emergency Broadcast station is experiencing technical difficulties.

“Engineers are working to fix the problem. The station will be back up and running as soon as possible.”

The Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) station, which broadcasts on 100.1FM, had provided regular updates on storm conditions.

The spokeswoman added that the EMO will put updates on the EMO website at: www.govsubportal.com.

Information on the storm is also available through other media outlets.
