Belco has announced that as of last night all mainline circuits had been restored and all schools have supply.

As of 9am this morning 2,300 remained without power although it had been stated last night there were only 2,089 without power.

A Belco spokeswoman said at 10.30am today: “At this stage of restoration it is very common for numbers to fluctuate as some customers may not come back online when their mainline circuit does, indicating a more localised issue. Also, customers who experience partial power are advised to turn all power off until the problem is solved.

“This morning crews are working on a number of major branch lines that serve large numbers of customers including St Anne’s Road; Pompano area; Granaway Heights; Chapel of Ease; Trinity Church Road.

“Additionally, smaller crews are moving throughout the Island dealing with partial power, additional surveying requirements and small jobs. There are more than ample supplies to complete the restoration and as the larger areas are restored crews will continue moving to other areas.

“We also want to give a shout out to the Bermuda Regiment for assisting crews with traffic control. We are expecting a good, productive day with co-operative weather.”

Yesterday afternoon, more than 15,000 people were without power.
