The National Sports Centre is looking to turn a storage area into a gym, according to planning documents.

A recently submitted planning application shows that the BSC board is hoping to change an existing electrical/storage building located near the centre’s swimming pool into a two-storey gym facility.

“The proposed building will be a new structure built in the existing storage area for gym equipment, totalling approximately 1,500 square feet,” the application states.

“The other part of this application is a change of the use of an existing storage room into another gym totalling approximately 1,850 sq ft.”

The planning application is viewable at the Department of Planning offices in the Dame Lois Browne-Evans building.
