Bermuda pair left out of ICC side

Left out: Leverock did not make the ICC Americas team

Bermuda pair Delray Rawlins and Kamau Leverock have been left out of the ICC Americas regional team.

The pair travelled to Indianapolis last month to take part in phase two of an ICC Combine, from which 20 players have been selected for a squad that will compete in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Nagico Super50 tournament in January.

Players who impress in that competition could be given the opportunity to go for a trial with a Caribbean Premier League franchise.

As it is, all the members of the squad either come from the United States, or Canada, with the US providing the majority of players, with nine in the main squad, and three among the five reserves.

“We’d like to thank all the players and coaches involved in what was a unique process to select the team,” Tom Evans, the ICC Americas high performance consultant, said. “There is an exciting amount of talent in the region, and we are looking forward to helping the players selected, and those that missed out this time, continue to improve.”

The combine coaching staff included Courtney Walsh, Venkatapathy Raju, the former India international, and several coaches from associate member countries, including Lorenzo Tucker, the Bermuda coach.
