Three eight-year-old drummers are to perform a concert with professionals this weekend.

The three students of Eddie Ming’s Rhythm Lab, Jaydon Roberts, Joaquin O’Connor and Xenai Williams, were selected to perform with the popular Jade Minors Band due to their “phenomenal” musical ability.

Musical director at the Rhythm Lab Quinton “Tiny” Burgess said: “They are really doing well as far as playing drums, reading music and playing with the band. They are phenomenal for their age and they have a lot of potential. They are ahead of their time and they can be playing all different rhythms.

“They will be playing some really nice tunes — mostly jazz and R&B.”

The concert on Saturday, October 17 takes place from 7pm to 10.30pm and is open to the public with donations at the door.

The Rhythm Lab is located at 6 Military Road, St George’s.
