Women’s day events focus on power of God

Today

Heard Chapel AME will host women’s day events starting with a prayer breakfast at 8am. The theme is: Women, Don’t Give Up on the Power of God ... It’s in the Bag (Acts 1:8).

Tomorrow

St Anne’s Church will host Walk Together Children, A Ruth Thomas & Company Production featuring Leo Mills, Gary Phillips, Grace Rawlins, Ruth E Thomas, The Allen Temple Choir, Blues Beat Band, Shine Hayward, Owen Simons and Jaedyn Clarke. Tickets, $25 for adults and $10 for children under 15, are available by calling 238-1864. Refreshments will be on offer following the performance in the church hall.

Marsden First United Methodist Church invites the public to its 154th anniversary celebration. The theme of the service is God’s Glory: To Do More Through the Holy Spirit. Brother Chris Crumpler, of Impact Mentoring Academy, will speak at 10am. Rev Dr Jahkimmo F Smith, of Mt Zion AME Church, will speak at 4pm.

Bermuda Conference Women’s Missionary Society of the AME Church will host a service with Rev Myra Billips at Bethel AME Church at 7pm.

Friday, October 23

Bermuda Conference Women’s Missionary Society of the AME Church will host a special event featuring guest speaker Rev Carolyn Cavaness at Mt Zion AME Church at 7pm.

Saturday, October 24

Bermuda Conference Women’s Missionary Society of the AME Church concludes a three-part series, The Learning Experience, at St Paul AME Church at 8.45am. Heard Chapel AME: Women’s day events continue with worship services at 11am and 4pm. Guest preacher will be Rev Myra Billips, co-pastor of Mount Zion AME Church in New Brunswick, NJ. The theme of the message is Women Don’t Give Up on the Power of God ... It’s in the Bag (Acts 1:8). Lunch will be served after the morning service for $15.

Vernon Temple AME will have a service at 10am featuring guest speaker Bishop Emeritus Robert J Kurtz of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton, Bermuda.
