The Bermuda Arts Council is seeking applicants worthy of financial grants, according to a recent advertisement.

The advertisement, posted by the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, calls for projects which would be suitable for grants from the Cultural Legacy Fund.

“Grant proposals written by individuals, new or established organisations or charities will be considered,” the advertisement states. “The application will be reviewed by the Bermuda Arts Council this year and evaluated based on alignment with the goals of the Cultural Legacy Fund.”

The fund was created in 2009 and is awarded to those who foster excellence, increase access and participation, and facilitate development and growth in culture, heritage, and the arts.

Recent projects that have been granted funding include a documentary on the history of the Berkeley Institute and a book about National Hero Dr Pauulu Kamarakafego.

Applications are due by November 16, and can be submitted to the department’s offices in the Dame Lois Browne-Evans Building or via e-mail at artscouncil@gov.bm.
