The Salvation Army has introduced its community council board, which will support its social services team.

The primary remit of the council is to provide the executive director with administrative advice relating to programme, business and policy matters.

The council will also assist management in ensuring that service is effectively and efficiently administered.

Other key responsibilities include reviewing the mission, goals and objectives and strategic plan, and to review established policies and procedures.

Beverley Daniels, the executive director of community services, has oversight of the community service programmes in Bermuda. She collaborates with managers who supervise teams of caring individuals to carry out the work of the Salvation Army.

“We wish to introduce to the Bermudian community, members of the community council board, volunteers keenly interested in the work of the Salvation Army in Bermuda. They support the social services team as we work to fulfil the mission.”

Making up the committee are chairwoman Mary Salegio, vice chairman Richard Keane, and members Marva Allen, Carol Bassett, Julian Rose, Pamela Richardson, Claire Ann Moore and Glenn Fubler.

“We present this board to the Bermuda public acknowledging how blessed and appreciative we are to have persons of this calibre forming a supportive network around us,” Ms Daniels said. “Working with them we are certain to meet success in carrying out the mission and vision of the Salvation Army here in Bermuda.”

The Salvation Army has announced plans for its upcoming congress, with the theme Boundless Bermuda, which will take place in Hamilton from November 12 to 15.

The congress will host the world leader of the Salvation Army, General Andre Cox.
