BAS shares boost the BSX

Bermuda Stock Exchange: Ascendant saw the heaviest trading during the week

Shares of Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd (BAS) gained by 24 per cent last week on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

BAS, which shot up by 60 cents to close on $3.10 on the trading of 2,000 shares, was the only stock to see its value change after the five days of trading.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the week at 1,217.85, having gained 2.73 points, or 0.22 per cent. Trading volume for the week was 57,989 shares, while turnover totalled $265,923.64.

Ascendant Group Ltd, parent company of electricity company Belco, was the largest trader by volume, remaining on $5, as 39,800 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank ended the week where it started, on $1.76, after 14,189 of its shares traded.

And insurer BF&M Ltd was also unchanged at $16.75, after 2,000 shares changed hands.
