The Royal Gazette/BSX closed up 5.41 points, or 0.44 per cent, at 1,246.19.

Shares of Somers Ltd rose $1.25 (9.6 per cent) to $14.25, after 100 shares were exchanged.

A total of 9,258 shares in the Bank of Butterfield traded, leaving its price unchanged at $1.78.

Insurance group Argus dropped 14 cents (3.5 per cent) to $3.81 after 1,700 shares changed hands.

Fellow insurers BF&M was unchanged at $17.25 after 100 shares sold.

The BSX Insurance Index closed down 23.35 points (1.50 per cent) at 1,669.66.
