The Bermuda Tourism Authority is inviting tourism industry stakeholders to a one-day summit in two weeks.

The event, themed ‘Calling All Explorers, Partners and Believers’, will feature a keynote address from visiting economist Adam Sacks, the founder and president of Tourism Economics.

Also taking part will be Michael Dunkley, the Premier; Shawn Crockwell, the Minister of Tourism Development and Transport; and Bill Hanbury, chief executive of the Bermuda Tourism Authority, who are each set to address the summit along with local tourism industry experts and some experts from overseas.

Among the topics for the breakout sessions are a look into the vacation rental model, the secrets of travel packaging and how to use industry research to develop.

Announcing the summit, the BTA said it intended to “prepare the industry for the 2016 calendar year of tourism business and set the table for productive partnerships”.

The summit is scheduled to take place at the Fairmont Southampton on November 16, starting at 8am and concluding at 6pm that day with a networking reception.

Advanced registration for the event costs $25, and registration will remain open until November 9 on the Bermuda Tourism Authority website.
