Wildlife television presenter Nigel Marven is visiting Bermuda to discuss his experiences filming albatrosses with Sir David Attenborough.

Marven, who is an ornithologist and author, worked with Sir David for 12 years in the BBC Natural History Unit before moving to ITV in 1998.

The presenter has produced and hosted numerous wildlife documentaries, and has often been compared with Steve “Crocodile Hunter” Irwin due to his daring and willingness to swim with great white sharks and grapple with 15ft pythons.

He has since founded his own independent company to produce wildlife films, including Penguin Safari and Panda Adventure.

His talk, entitled “Filming Birds: Behind the Camera with Attenborough, in Front of the Lens with Albatrosses”, will be at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on November 12, starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available at the BUEI auditorium or by calling 294-0204.

The cost is $20 for BAS/BUEI members and $25 for non-members.
