A three-way tie for first place has developed in the men’s open division of the BNAA Cross Country series following Saturday’s races at the Arboretum which saw Larry Marshall pick up his second straight victory to join Chayce Smith and Chefton Hall on 20 points.

Smith, who won the first two races in the 20-39 division, missed his second straight race as Hall picked up four points for his fourth place finish to move level with Smith and Marshall. Danico Clark had another second place finish to move into fourth on sixteen points.

In the women’s open, Rose-Anna Hoey comfortably leads by fourteen points over Tamika Miranda after a third victory, while Miranda, who missed the first two races, had a second straight third place finish for sixteen points.

The men’s and women’s masters races are close between the top two with Omari Hart leading by just two points over Scott Neil after his second place finish on Sunday to go with two earlier first places. Scott was leading going into the weekend after three straight second finishes. However, on the weekend he finished fifth to take his points total to 26, while Hart has 28. Dean Smith and Chris Harris have 22 and 20 respectively.

Laurie Orchard leads the women’s masters with 32 points while Deon Breary is close behind on 30 after three wins in three appearances. Orchard added a third to a first and two seconds previously.

There is a two way tie for first place in the girls under-17s where Ashley Irby is joined on 20 points by Mikaela Outerbridge after missing her second race of the series. Lynsey Palmer won the race in Irby’s absence to join J’Auna James on eighteen points. Outerbridge finished third on Saturday.

In the boys under-17s, Aaron Jacobs leads the way with 26 points after finishing third on Saturday while Quincy Kuzyk closed the gap to two points after winning on Saturday.

Selah Tuzo leads the girls under-14s by four points after her third straight win, moving ahead of Jessie Marshall who missed Saturday’s race and remains on 26 points, four ahead of Kayla Raymond who had a second on the weekend.

Ryan Outerbridge leads the boys under-14s with 34 points after finishing third, while winner Iziah Tucker is second on 28.

There is one more race in the series — November 21 at Chaplin Bay — before the National Championships are held on December 5.
