The pilot boat St David this evening came to the rescue of a disabled yacht.

The Laura Mae had lost her steering after reaching the Sea Buoy, a fairway marker about two miles east from the entrance to Town Cut.

According to a spokesman for the Department of Marine and Ports Services, the incident occurred at about 6pm.

“The pilot boat went out, took the vessel under tow and brought it back into St George’s,” he said.

Two people were on board the yacht, which is now safely anchored in Convict Bay.
