Warwick man fined for cannabis possession

A 24-year-old Warwick man has been fined $600 for possessing cannabis.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court this morning, Rejay Johnston admitted having 2.59 grams of the drug in Paget on May 24.

The court heard that Johnston was stopped by police after they observed him driving on South Road in an unsafe manner.

Johnston was asked to produce his licence, at which point it was determined that there was a warrant out for his arrest.

He was arrested and cautioned, and the officers seized a clear plastic twist containing plant material from his trouser pocket.

Magistrate Archibald Warner today handed Johnston a $600 fine.
