The Bank of Butterfield dropped one cent (0.5 per cent) to $1.99 after 31,800 shares sold.

And the bank’s preference shares also fell, down $4.99 (0.4 per cent) to $1,130 after 60 shares changed hands.

Utilities firm Ascendant Group lost 35 cents (6.9 per cent) on its share price, ending the day at $4.70 after 8,500 shares sold.

Insurance company Argus Group was unchanged at $3.82 after 221 shares moved.

The Royal Gazette/BSX closed down 7.72 points (0.58 per cent) at 1,332.26.

The BSX Insurance Index stood at 1,660.43, down 11.93 points (0.71 per cent).
