BSX ends week 4.46% lower

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the week sharply lower, losing 57.67 points (4.46 per cent) over the course of five days. The index stood at 1,291.37.

KeyTech shares fell the furthest, down $1.23 (30.8 per cent) at $2.78, after 800 were traded.

Ascendant Group also tumbled 35 cents (6.9 per cent) to close at $4.70 after 10,200 shares were exchanged.

Argus Group were 18 cents lower (4.5 per cent) at $3.82 after 97,121 shares changed hands, while Bank of Butterfield’s stock was eight cents (4 per cent) lower at $1.92 after 52,000 shares traded during the week.

Butterfield Bank’s preference shares also lots ground, dropping $4.99 (0.4 per cent) to finish at $1,130 after 160 were exchanged.

BF&M saw its shares improve by 14 cents (0.8 per cent) to $17 after 600 were traded.

The BSX Insurance Index closed down 11.93 points (0.71 per cent) at 1,660.43.
