Mazzone to lead Trunomi’s expansion

New recruit: Anna Mazzone has joined Bermudian tech start-up Trunomi from Thomson Reuters

A Bermuda-based financial technology firm has appointed a new managing director and global head of customer development in Britain.

Anna Mazzone joins the firm from Thomson Reuters, where she was global head of KYC Services.

Ms Mazzone will lead the Pembroke-based firm’s expansion in Britain and Europe, reporting to chief executive officer Stuart Lacey, who founded the company just over a year ago.

Mr Lacey said: “With a depth of international experience working for both Fortune 500 companies and small to medium enterprises, Anna’s unquestionable leadership experience and knowledge of financial markets will be an incredible asset.

“Anna brings a wealth of relevant experience from launching the financial industry’s first global ‘know your customer’ (KYC) managed service.

“Her financial technology and wider financial services network are demonstrated in her position as a sought-after thought leader in the space and we are delighted to welcome her to our growing team.”

Ms Mazzone has 20 years of financial services industry experience. She was responsible for founding and expanding Thomson Reuters the KYC Services unit, leading the global business across more than 80 countries and an organisation of 150 people.

With Trunomi, she will lead the worldwide growth of the firm’s global client base, with operational responsibilities for the business in Britain.

Ms Mazzone said: “Technology enables financial institutions to better manage regulatory and compliance obligations and it is clear that solutions such as Trunomi’s will be the future bedrock of innovative financial institutions.

“Joining Trunomi will enable me to make a significant impact in how client data is managed and shared in the new digital world.”

And she added she was excited to be joining the company at a time when banks faced up to implications of new European rules on general data privacy, and are looking to companies like Trunomi to help make the necessary changes.

Since it launched, Trunomi has ranked in the 2015 European FinTech 50, won the Visa Europe Collab competition, been named “company to watch” in the Fintech Forward and closed a $3 million capital raise.

The firm is scheduled to exhibit in London at the FinTech Connect Live conference next week.
