Kirk Hanefeld will take a two-shot lead going into today’s final round of the Gosling’s Invitational.

The 2009 champion shot a two-under-par 68 in yesterday’s third round, leaving him ten-under for the tournament.

Danny King is close behind after his 69, with Billy Walsh, who won the event in 2013 alone in third at seven-under, following his second successive four-under 66.

Matthew Sita and Brian McCann are a shot further back at six-under.

Terence Daniels, the Bermuda professional, shot the low round of the day, carding a five-under 65 to move to three-under, and into a tie for seventh alongside Kenny Leach. Camiko Smith continued his resurgence with a three-under 67 to move to two-under for the three days.

Hanefeld, King and Walsh will tee off together this morning at 11.40am, with Hanefeld looking the most likely to win.

The two Canadians however, who combined to win the Nike Golf PGA Team Championship of Canada at Mid Ocean Club in October are bound to fancy their chances.

Walsh, who was leading in the final round last year against Patrick Horgan III knows what it takes to win at Belmont.

In the senior professional Division, John Brott has opened up a three-shot lead over Donny Jarvis, the defending champion, after his third round, level-par 70, left him at six over for the tournament.

Jarvis had his worst day yesterday, carding a seven-over 77, after two rounds of 71, to move to nine-over for the tournament.

Barring a disaster of almost biblical proportions Mark Phillips will win the amateur division today, after his third round 78 left him 16-over, some 13 shots ahead of Mike Hubbs, who is second, with Henry Arundale and Mike Higgins a shot further back in third.

Hav Trott will be equally confident in the senior open division after his third round 73 moved him to 12-over, four shots ahead of Glenn Kelly, who also carded a three-over yesterday. Max Atherden is third, three shots further back.
