Services at HSBC and Butterfield Bank were hit by an outage problem at merchant points of sale this morning.

The issue — caused by an overseas card processor — impacted credit and debit cards at multiple banks in Bermuda and internationally.

Shortly after 12pm, HSBC and Butterfield both announced the issue has been resolved and normal service has resumed.
