Commit to change

Commit to change. Last week, together with several colleagues, we attended the World Congress of the International Diabetes Federation in Vancouver, Canada.

It truly was the “United Nations of Diabetes” as over 170 countries with 400 delegates, together with about 10,000 friends, were participating. The challenge is daunting as the number of cases grows to 400 million cases and beyond.

Our island is no exception and we have a much higher rate of incidence where we estimate that it may be as much as 25 per cent of our population.

It is imperative that we apply great business planning and execution techniques that will result in changes across a broad section of our community.

Particular attention has to be focused on our youth so that they start young to live healthier and to avoid many of the chronic diseases that face us today! You might ask — what can you do? Get involved — give us of your time, talent, and treasure so that we create significant inertia that will see a major reduction of diabetes on our island.

The results will be amazing! So join us and — “COMMIT TO CHANGE!”

“Let us together shock the community into silence; and then shock them into action! Together we can all make a difference.” – David H Hills
