Last Friday, student musicians from the Bermuda School of Music were performing at The Washington Mall.

The Bermuda School of Music’s Suzuki tour group, comprised of 39 students aged seven to 16, have been accepted to perform at Walt Disney World in Florida as part of their Disney Youth programme.

From February 7 to 12, students will participate in three workshops with Disney music professionals and perform in a special presentation on the Disney Springs Waterside Stage. In preparation for the event the students have been rehearsing on a regular basis since the auditions in June and will be participating in a local tour on Friday, January 15, 2016.

During the local tour they will perform for students at Somersfield Academy, Victor Scott Primary and St George’s Prep, as well as a midday performance on the steps of City Hall. The students have also been performing throughout the Island as often as possible to help raise funds for the event.
