New home: Swizzle is settling in well to life in England

It is almost exactly a year since Swizzle the cat left Bermuda to be reunited with his owners in England — and there is little doubt he is thriving in his new home.

Jon and Naomi Smyth say that although the British weather can make him a little grumpy, he has settled in well to his new life.

Their pet disappeared while they were living on the Island and made a surprise reappearance at the airport months after they had left Bermuda.

But with the help of Bermuda Veterinary Services, the couple were able to fly Swizzle to join them in England in time for last Christmas.

“It’s crazy to think that it’s been a year since he came over to the UK,” Mr Smyth said. “Time has really flown.

“He has settled in well to his new life, although the weather can make him very grumpy. He also has a puppy to contend with now.”

The story of Swizzle being reunited with his owners in England made national news in Britain as well as in Bermuda.
