A by-election to determine who will represent Devonshire North Central in the House of Assembly will be held on February 4.

The Governor, George Fergusson, has issued a writ of election for the Constituency 13 seat, it has been confirmed.

Voter registration will close at 5pm on January 5, with nomination day on January 20.

The National Sports Centre Pavilion in Devonshire has been selected as the polling station.

The by-election comes after the retirement of the Progressive Labour Party’s Glenn Blakeney, who in the 2012 General Election defeated One Bermuda Alliance candidate Anthony Francis by 19 votes.

Diallo Rabain, the Opposition’s leader in the Senate, will be the PLP’s candidate, with Andrew Simons running for the OBA.
