Somers shares slide 8.7%

In the red: Somers shares traded down sharply on the BSX

A total of 10,000 shares worth $103,152 today traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Financial-services holding company Somers Ltd, which owns Bermuda Commercial Bank, dropped $1.25 (8.77 per cent) to $13 after 4,000 shares traded.

Watlington Water went up 25 cents (1.25 per cent) to $20.25 after 2,000 shares moved.

The Bank of Butterfield was unchanged at $1.95 after the trading of 3,000 shares.

Utilities firm Ascendant Group was also unchanged, standing at $4.80 after 1,000 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette BSX closed down 7.91 points (0.60 per cent) at 1,302.30.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 13.83 per cent (0.82 per cent) at 1,671.45.
