The Bermuda Industrial Union’s gas station, built for the service of the union’s members, has stood on Dundonald Street for some 60 years.

The facility temporarily closed on January 6 while it gets its first renovation since 1997.

The BIU station started out originally with only one pump, according to Renée Jones, the union’s treasurer.

If refurbishments go to schedule, it will reopen on April 4 with the same layout as before, but with new pumps and a slightly expanded food service area, Ms Jones said.
