Argus shares slip 11%

Argus Group Holdings Ltd’s shares fell 11 per cent last week, the most notable decline in a week of relatively light trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Argus slumped 44 cents to close the week on $3.56 on the trading of 700 shares.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index slid 13.49 points, or 1.11 per cent during the five days of trading to close the week on 1,209.76.

Butterfield Bank slipped one cent, or 0.6 per cent, to $1.76, as 13,661 of its shares changed hands.

Butterfield’s 8 per cent preference shares also fell, shedding $5 to close on $1,110 as 79 shares were exchanged.

BF&M Ltd dipped six cents, or 0.4 per cent, to close on $16.71, as 2,800 of its shares traded.

The Government of Bermuda 4.75 per cent notes were the only security to gain value, climbing $1 or 1 per cent, to close on $101.

BSX trading volume totalled 19,690 shares, as turnover topped $174,000.
