Love is in the air at Valentine’s Masquerade

Feel the love: at the Swallows Hockey Club Valentine’s Masquerade on Saturday, February 13

• The Church Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade are holding their popular fundraising Valentine’s Fair and Car Wash at St Paul’s Church Hall on Saturday, February 13. From 10am until 4pm, you can browse stalls with include baked goods, books, DVDs, “nearly new” goods, plants and more. Lunch will also be offered, including delicious home-made soups, chili, hotdogs, codfish balls and chicken wingettes. The car wash is $15 for small- and regular-sized cars and $20 for large cars and vans. All funds raised are used to run the Boys and Girls Brigade programmes. • Whether you are single or attached, Swallows Hockey Club promise a great night out with a difference at their Valentine’s Masquerade on Saturday, February 13. From 8pm at Gosling’s Wine Cellar, you can enjoy music by DJ Choice, a cash bar, a raffle, and a photo booth. Tickets are $50 each, which includes a mask and two drinks. • To show their appreciation of the older members of our community, the Smith’s Parish Council are hosting their annual Seniors Tea at St Mark’s Anglican Church Hall on Saturday, February 13. From 2pm until 5pm. senior residents of Smiths Parish and their guest are invited to enjoy tea, light refreshments, entertainment and prizes. This event is free but you must RSVP to attend. • Are you starting to plan your wedding? If so, then you will be interested to learn that Orchid Spa will be hosting their 2016 Wedding Expo at The Fairmont Southampton on Sunday, February 14. The Orchid Spa Wedding Expo was previously hosted by Anthony’s Tuxedo. Orchid Spa has taken over the reins and re-branded the event. The first annual wedding expo, which was held on March 15 of 2015, showcased more than 57 vendors and catered to almost 500 attendees. The 2016 event will run from noon until 5pm and the number of vendors are expected to increase, if not double. The March event afforded many small businesses the opportunity to showcase their products or services to the direct attendees. The vendor list includes but is not limited to caterers, florists, cake decorators, make up artists, hair stylists, venues, photographers, videographers, jewellers, loan institutions, travel agents, apparel, shoes, disc jockeys, invitations, planners, specialty garments, wedding registries, spas, dessert designers, event planners soloist/bands, spa/wellness, churches and many more. Pre-Registration will be open to current vendors to secure their previous booth space until November 7. Registration will then be open to the general public to vend on November 9. Admission to the expo is $10.
