Family Centre ‘blown away’ by PwC support

Martha Dismont

The executive director of Family Centre has admitted she is “blown away” by the support of financial services firm PwC.

Yesterday, PwC announced it had entered a 10-year partnership with the community charity, which helps families in Bermuda.

As well as donating $25,000 per year, the firm’s 200-plus employees will volunteer in a wide range of programmes and initiatives.

“It’s critical funding and we’re tremendously grateful for it. It’s absolutely fabulous,” Martha Dismont said.

“The money will go towards our counselling service, which is our core service and needs the longest-term commitment.”

Ms Dismont added that such a commitment helps the charity plan its future direction with confidence, rather than waiting and hoping for the necessary funding to support its initiatives.

As for Family Centre’s plans for 2016, she said: “We know there are a lot of individuals on this island with multi-generational trauma, issues that need attention.

“Along with other agencies, we plan on raising the conversation more this year.”
