Two more Bermuda athletes have qualified for next month’s Carifta Games in Grenada.

Tyler Smith and Lyndsey Palmer both met the standards in their events at the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) Track and Field meet, which was held at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Smith, 18, was the only runner in the men’s 5000 metres, posting a time of 16min 33.03sec, while 16-year-old Palmer was also the sole competitor in the women’s 3000, crossing the finish line in 11:13.64.

Palmer had a good weekend overall, also finishing as the top girl in the senior school’s division of yesterday’s Butterfield & Vallis 5K race.

Palmer finished in 20:40, beating Messiah Graves, the defending champion, who clocked 21:23.

Earlier this month Tiari De- Rosa reached the qualifying standard at the Flyers Track and Field Meet in the discus with a throw of 45.02 to set a national record.

The Carifta Games will be held from March 26 to 28.
