The children’s department of As Cooper & Sons has moved into the main store building.

The children’s store, which had been in a separate shop across from the Ferry Terminal on Front Street, will open today on the second floor of the main Front Street building and be known as “Kids on 2”.

The newly-decorated department will occupy around half of the second floor and is set to undergo further renovations over the next few weeks.

An official opening ceremony for the new children’s store and the nearby Somers’ Café is scheduled for next month.

And company chief executive officer Somers Cooper said that the vacant space left after the move will be retained as the site of “a new concept store”.

Mr Cooper said: “Information about the new store will be forthcoming shortly. I can, however, guarantee that the shopping public is going to be wowed.”
