Two free screenings of the documentary film, Freedom Quest: Blacks in Bermuda 1616-1834, will be shown on Thursday night.

The film by James Ziral examines the history of blacks in Bermuda between 1616-1834 with interviews and discussions with Dr Clarence Maxwell, Dr Pauulu Kamarkafego, Victoria Pearman and Craig Simmons.

Mr Simmons (pictured), an economist and Bermuda College lecturer, will moderate the 6pm and 8pm screenings at the World Heritage Centre at Penno’s Wharf.

Both events, hosted by the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and the St. George’s Foundation, are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
