Island’s athletes continue to shine overseas

On the right track: Dill won the 800 at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational

Bermudian athletes turned in some outstanding performances overseas this past weekend, with Shaquille Dill and Dage Minors winning middle-distance races for their universities in the United States, while Kyle Webb had a win in a 200 metres race.

Dill, who attends St Augustine University, placed first in the 800 at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational in a time of 1min 52.00sec out of 108 runners.

Minors, a junior at Franklin Pierce University, won the mile event at the URI Coaches Tribute Meet in a time of 4:17.75, competing against 16 runners in the final.

Webb, of Purdue University, won the 200 final at the Meyo Invitational Meet with a time of 21.30. Anderson Devonish, of Illinois State, and Julius Morris, of Western Kentucky, finished second and third in 21.36 and 21.37, respectively.
