Vow renewals for Marriage Week

Women Aglow Int invites the public to attend its fellowship worship service at Astwood Hall, Church Street, Hamilton at 9.45am. Rev Yvonne Thompson, associate minister at Mount Zion AME in Southampton, will be the speaker. The theme is, ‘Courageousness — Be strong and of good courage … for the Lord your God is with you … (Joshua 1: 6-9)’. Light refreshments will be served. Tuesday, February 16

The Churches of the Warwick/Paget/Southampton Ministerial Alliance: Joint Lenten Service at 7.30pm at Christ Church Warwick, Presbyterian. There will be refreshments and a light supper offered after the service. It is the first of five Joint Lenten Services happening between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday. Each will be at different Churches under the heading “The Women Who Walked With Jesus”. Rev Eugene Joell will preach at the first Lenten Service about Mary Magdalene. All are welcome.

Tuesday, February 23

The Churches of the Warwick/Paget/Southampton Ministerial Alliance: Joint Lenten Service at 7.30pm at Bright Temple AME. There will be refreshments and a light supper offered after the service. It is the second of five Joint Lenten Services happening between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday. Each will be at different Churches under the heading “The Women Who Walked With Jesus”. Rev Derek Lawson will preach at the second Lenten Service on Mary and Martha. All are welcome.

Saturday, February 27

Heard Chapel AME Church: Pre-Men’s Day Breakfast. The event will start at 8am and include a sermon by guest preacher Apostle Jimmie R. Denwiddie Sr, the senior pastor of New Creation Worship Centre in Devonshire.

Sunday, February 28

Vernon Temple AME Church: Annual Men’s Day. Several services with the theme, ‘Men serving in submission to God’, based on a passage of scripture, John 13: 1-6. Rev Leon Jennings will speak at the 7am service; Pastor Ulric Hetsberger at 10am and Rev Nicholas Tweed at 4pm. Lunch will be served following the 10am service; refreshments will follow the afternoon service.

Tuesday, March 1

The Churches of the Warwick/Paget/Southampton Ministerial Alliance: Joint Lenten Service at 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church. There will be refreshments and a light supper offered after the service. Pastor Deborah Dean will preach at the third Lenten Service on The Virgin Mary. All are welcome.

Sunday, March 6

Heard Chapel AME Church: Annual Men’s Day. There will be two services with the theme: ‘Men Understanding Your Potential’ (based on 2 Timothy 4: 6-7). The guest preacher will be Rev Dr Joseph Hooper, the senior pastor at St Luke AME Church in Newark, New Jersey at both the 11am and 4pm service. Lunch will be served in between for a donation of $15.

The Churches of the Warwick/Paget/Southampton Ministerial Alliance: Joint Lenten Service at Cobb’s Hill Methodist Church at 7.30pm. There will be refreshments and a light supper offered after the service. Rev Anthony Pettit will preach at the forth Lenten Service on Anna. All are welcome.

St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (the pink church on the corner of Church and Court Streets) will have its prayer group in the sanctuary, 12.45pm-1.15pm. The group meets on the first and third Monday of each month to pray for individuals here and around the world.
