The Blackwatch Pass and North Shore Road roundabout is one step closer to completion, as the roads were fully opened to traffic without stop lights yesterday morning.

Speaking at the House of Assembly on February 12, Public Works minister Craig Cannonier admitted that $728,000 has been spent on the project so far, with the final cost expected to be close to $1 million.

Mr Cannonier added that he was “perplexed” about the high cost of the North Shore roundabout project, which began in 2014.

When asked by The Royal Gazette yesterday about the remaining steps to completion, a ministry spokeswoman replied that the Ducking Stool Park parking lot and the landscaping of the park still needed finishing, as well as minor roadworks.
