Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd moved nearly 2 per cent higher in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The group, which owns power utility Belco, rose 10 cents, or 1.9 per cent, to close on $5.45, as 1,211 of its shares traded.

Butterfield Bank remained unchanged at $1.65 as 5,872 shares changed hands.

Ascendant’s rise added nearly a point to The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, which closed on 1,203.76.

Trading volume was 7,083 shares, while turnover totalled $16,190.70.
