Shares of HSBC Holdings rose by 30 cents, or 2.87 per cent, to $10.75 after 3,286 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank rose two cents, or 0.05 per cent, to $40.25.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged 2,313.29.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 4.21 points, or 0.23 per cent, at 1,821.15.
