Shares of Ascendant Group rose 10 cents, or 1.8 per cent, to $5.70 after 10,000 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also rising was Argus Group Holdings, improving five cents, or 1.3 per cent, to $4.05 after 370 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank shares edged one cent lower, or 0.6 per cent, to $1.78 after 15,000 were traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 2.53 points, or 0.2 per cent, at 1,273.76.

Meanwhile, the BSX Insurance Index dropped 3.74 points, or 0.22 per cent, to close at 1,660.78.
